The recently completed phase II extension of the James River Fishing Pier is now open to the public.
The completion of Phase II adds 1,112 linear feet to the existing pier, providing a recreational 2,364 total feet of pier length.
The new extension includes LED lights for night fishing and a wider T-shaped portion at the end of the pier.
The James River Pier, located at the foot of the James River Bridge, is now open summer hours – 8am – 11pm (Mondays and Tuesdays) and 24 hours beginning 8am Wednesdays through 11pm Sundays).
The cost is $9 for adults and $7 for seniors and children 6-12. No fishing license is required and bait and tackle are available for purchase.
